If this works, I will get an instant update in the timeline, without any delay.

The mofo worked. I accomplished this by, when I save a post in WordLand, sending a message to FeedLand to check the feed, after we make sure the user (in FeedLand) is subscribed to the feed.

Integration between the writing tool and reading tool, but all done with API calls over HTTP.

Does it work for updates too? Let's see. Does. #

This is my last full week on WordLand before I take a break to go to Ottawa for the WordCamp conference. I feel really good about the project. I didn't rush things, I was able to make big changes in the last couple of months, believing I'd have time to put it all back together in commercial quality before I had to turn it over to users.

I expect what will happen is I'll have something I can demo at the end of next week, and perhaps even release as an early beta. I am using it for its intended purpose, that quality is something I look for in the maturing process for a product.

Also I would probably be willing to share a screen shot of the product. Some of the visual elements are still placeholders, but not too many. Finishing the UI of a product is a process. This one is very along. I could take out a few provisional things, and say yes I think all of this stuff is in the first release.

I also like having a back-channel blog where I can post progress on development in a product people can't yet see. I wouldn't do that on Scripting News, a lot of non-technical people read that blog, so I generally stay away from stuff like this.

Anyway, I needed a good test post and now I have one! 😉
