BTW the “open” web has a chance to come back around the AI rewrite of all our software that’s underway now. If we build the new systems entirely around web connections, with each part replaceable, we can have as much “open” as we want. Products like Bluesky will look like they bet on the wrong horse if we all have choice everywhere. It’s not as strange as you think.
