i had a similar experience but flipped around.
ChatGPT and Gemini both agreed it was likely that I had a bad form of cancer. Was really bummed out of course. Went to the doctor, expecting bad news, but the odds were actually very low, and it turns out I didn’t have the dreaded disease.
It wasn’t that the bots were wrong, they weren’t, they just had both misunderstood the question and I had misinterpreted their answers.
But human doctors have made horrible mistakes with my health too, once misdiagnosing appendicitis, which then burst, at a time when antibiotics were still quite primitive.
Far from the only example of humans making mistakes the bots never would make.
(Appendicitis is easy to spot, sharp pain in lower right abdomen. And when the pain goes from being sharp to heavy and hot, rush your ass down to the ER.)
