Musky hype

I don’t know why anyone listens to Elon Musk when it comes to self-driving Teslas.

I paid $10K for FSD two years ago because I didn’t see the point of buying such an expensive car without also buying the leading edge tech they’re putting into it. And that’s what I think FSD is. I do not think any sane person would use it to drive their car without paying very close attention to what it’s doing, because I’ve seen it try to stop in the middle of a freeway with no traffic, with cars going 75+ mph because it saw a car parked in the shoulder over a mile away. I’ve seen it try to make a left turn on a busy intersection where if I hadn’t hit the brake for it, another car would have had to slam the brake to avoid a collision at 30 mph.

It’s mostly harmless when ChatGPT has a hallucination, it’s a whole other story when a Tesla has one. They’re both built from software, and I’ve been making software for too long to willingly trust my neck and innocent people’s necks with possible bugs. But I do use it sometimes, but mostly I chicken out after less than a minute.
